Professor George Dutton’s latest book, “A Vietnamese Moses” receives the 2017 PREMIO FONDAÇAÕ ORIENTE (ORIENTAL FOUNDATION PRIZE)
Professor George Dutton’s latest book, A Vietnamese Moses (UC Press, 2017) has just received the 2017 Premio Fondaçaõ Oriente (Oriental Foundation Prize) for the best book on a topic related to the history of the Portuguese overseas empire in Asia. The prize is administered by the Portuguese Marine Academy on behalf of the Fondaçaõ Oriente, both of which are based in Lisbon, Portugal.

Vencedores do Prémio “Fundação Oriente”/2017
Em 29 de novembro o júri decidiu, por maioria, atribuir ex aequo o prémio “Fundação Oriente” /2017, no valor de cinco mil euros, aos trabalhos “A governação de Timor no século XVIII” e “A Vietnamese Moses”, da autoria de José Vilas Boas Tavares e George E. Dutton, respetivamente.
