In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of two of modern Vietnam’s most significant historical events—North Vietnam’s Land Reform and the 1954 Great Migration—Texas Tech’s Vietnam Center and Sam Johnson Archive is proud to collaborate with the US-Vietnam Research Center at the University of Oregon and the Vietnamese Heritage Museum in Southern California to organize an exhibition and host two discussion panels on these pivotal events (posters attached).
The event will take place this coming Saturday and Sunday, August 17th and 18th, from 10 am to 5 pm at Bowers Museum, 2002 N. Main Street, Santa Ana, CA 92706.
- The panel discussion on Land Reform will feature Lan Cao, Nguyen Van Canh, Tuong Vu, Alec Holcombe, and myself.
- The panel on the 1954 Exodus will include Phan Quang Trong, Phi Van Nguyen, Jason Picard, Tuan Hoang, and Tran Huy Bich.
